Accidental discovery of natural gas Sarmasel (Mures County) In 1909, lead to early development of the natural gas business in Romania, there are similar activities in that period only in the U.S. and Canada.
 In the 100 years of use of natural gas, Romania has made an important contribution in developing this sector through numerous European prizes and / or worldwide, of which mention, in chronological order of their appearance include:
• use natural gas internal combustion engines;
• transport and distribution of natural gas by pipeline steel;
• regulation, measurement and delivery of natural gas transported to a distributor;
• formaldehyde from natural gas production;
• export of natural gas;
• natural gas storage.
The site aims to bring some light in the history of natural gas, presenting some of the significant moments of the natural gas sector over time and contribution made by the Romanian sector.
